

Dr. Anthony Blikslager is an Associate Professor of Equine Surgery at the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University where he received a PhD is Physiology (Gastroenterology). He earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia- Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, Blacksburg, VA. He is Board Certified, American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Dr. Anne Descrochers is a Clinical Instructor in Equine Internal Medicine at Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Large Animal). Dr. Desrochers received her Doctorat en Médecine Vétérinaire from the University of Montreal, St-Hyacinthe, Québec. Her educational background also include Equine Medicine and Surgery Internship Program of Chino Valley Equine Hospital; Large Animal Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Pennsylvania-Large Animal Teaching Hospital; and the Large Animal Cardiology and Ultrasound Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania-Department of Sport Medicine and Imaging.
Dr. Richard Ford is a Professor of Medicine at North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. He is Board Certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and is an Honorary Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. He is a co-author on both the Canine and the Feline Vaccine Guidelines and has published numerous articles pertaining to infectious diseases, vaccines, and vaccination protocols. He developed the Vaccine Website www.dvmvac.com, which is a non-sponsored, educational website for veterinarians seeking additional information on companion animal vaccination.
Dr. Ford is a Brigadier General in the Air Force Reserve and is assigned as the Mobilization Assistant to the AF Surgeon General, The Pentagon, Washington DC.
Dr. David Gnad graduated from Kansas State University in 1996. After two years in private practice he returned to KSU as a faculty member in the Agricultural Practices section. Dr. Gnad received his Master's Degree from KSU in 2002 and served as the Section Head of Agricultural Practices from 2002-2004. He also became an ABVP diplomate (Food Animal) in 2001. Dr. Gnad is currently practicing in a mixed practice in eastern Kansas.
Dr. Jeff Jenkins is recognized internationally for his work in avian and exotic animal medicine and surgery. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on a variety of subjects and his work published in peer reviewed journals, texts and monographs.
Dr. Sam Jones graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988, after which he completed an internship in large animal medicine and surgery at Texas A&M University, and a residency in equine internal medicine at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Jones was board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in large animal internal medicine in 1995. Dr. Jones received a PhD in Immunology from the Washington University School of Medicine in 1997, where he studied the molecular mechanisms of neutrophil integrin activation. Dr. Jones is presently an Associate Professor of Equine Medicine at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. His clinical interests include inflammatory diseases and gastroenterology. He has continued his research work in the field of inflammation, focusing on the molecular details of the mechanisms regulating neutrophil activation. He has collaborated extensively with Dr. Anthony Blikslager to study the role of neutrophils and inflammatory mediators during intestinal mucosa repair following ischemic injury. An important goal of his research is to identify new targets for anti-inflammatory drug development, particularly for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Dr. Jones has published over 58 research papers and book chapters in the areas of neutrophil biology, inflammation, equine gastroenterology, and equine internal medicine.
Dr. Sam Rivera graduated from the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. He also received a Master of Science degree in veterinary pathobiology from the same institution. Dr. Rivera has been in private practice since graduation and is a diplomate of the ABVP (avian specialty). He is the consulting veterinarian for several large aviaries in the Atlanta metro area and the American Cockatiel Society. Dr Rivera also serves as a contract veterinarian for Zoo Atlanta.
Dr. Allen Roussel received a DVM degree from Louisiana State University in 1977 and was in private mixed veterinary practice for 5 years in southeast Louisiana. He completed a residency and Masters of Science program at Purdue University in 1984 and was on the faculty at Virginia Tech prior to moving to Texas A&M University in 1986. He is currently Professor and Assoc. Dept. Head for the Dept. of Large Animal Clinical Sciences. Dr. Roussel is a food animal clinician in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Texas A&M University where the caseload is primarily beef cattle and meat goats. He is board certified in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Dr. Billy Smith received his DVM from Louisiana State University and a Masters of Science for the University of Florida. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Food Animal). Dr. Smith serves as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine. His professional interests focus mainly on dairy cattle herd health. He teaches numerous lectures and laboratories to veterinary students covering dairy cattle health-related topics and has received research grants in the areas of dairy cattle lameness and reproduction. Dr. Smith is currently finishing a research trial measuring the effects of frequent functional foot trimming on the incidence of dairy cattle lameness, and concurrently, has started a research trial entitled "Improving Health and Productivity in Holstein Dairy Cows Diagnosed with Twins: Evaluation of Feeding Strategies." Clinically, Dr. Smith has spent the last twelve years practicing veterinary medicine on dairy cattle in numerous regions of the United States on various herd sizes.
Dr. Candace Sousa is the Dermatologist on the Veterinary Specialty Team of Pfizer Animal Health. She has been certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Companion Animal Practice since 1983. In 1985 she was certified by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. Dr. Sousa worked in private small animal practice, owned a small animal clinic in Sacramento and worked in a private dermatology referral practice before joining Pfizer Animal Health in 2003. She also worked as a dermatology consultant for a large commercial laboratory. She has lectured extensively to veterinarians worldwide as well as publishing in numerous veterinary publications. Dr. Sousa currently maintains an appointment in the department of Medicine and Epidemiology at the University of California, Davis as an Adjunct Clinical Professor.
Dr. Lauren Trepanier graduated from Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986 with a DVM and in 1997 with a PhD in Parmacology. Dr. Trepanier is an Associate professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine at University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine. Her research interests are mechanisms of idiosyncratic drug toxicity. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (1992) and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology (1998).
Dr. Jim Wilson has been a small animal practitioner and owner for 16 years in California. He is the author of Law and Ethics of the Veterinary Profession and 5 other textbooks, the most recent of which will be published in the spring of 2005-Job Descriptions for Veterinary Practices. He serves as a teacher with Novartis and Veterinary Pet Insurance at 20 veterinary schools each year covering veterinary law, ethics, business management and career development topics. He owns Priority Veterinary Consultants, a practice management consulting business in Yardley, Pennsylvania. Dr. Wilson is an adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania-School of Veterinary Medicine and received the National SAVMA Award as Teacher of the Year for Clinical Sciences in 1996.
