The American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) is pleased to announce the 19th Annual Student Case Report Contest. Every year, ABVP opens this contest to students in all areas of veterinary medicine and surgery. Winning case reports must include appropriate diagnostic workups as well as medical and/or surgical managements; a clear demonstration of veterinary expertise; the application of sound medical principles in diagnosis and treatment; and the communication of medical observations and data in an organized manner. Because submissions are reviewed using the same guidelines as those used to evaluate actual ABVP applicants, these winners are to be commended for their excellence.
Thanks to a generous sponsorship from Elanco, ABVP will give the first place winner an $800 cash award. The Second Place winner will receive a $400 cash award and honorary award of $ 200 will go the third place winner. ABVP strongly encourages veterinary students across the country to participate in the 2010 Student Case Report Contest.
Since 1978, the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) has promoted and recognized the highest standards in the art and science of contemporary veterinary clinical practice. ABVP’s respected and fully-accredited certification process is designed for veterinarians who demonstrate expertise in a broad range of clinical subjects and display the ability to communicate medical observations and data in an organized, professional manner. Unlike other specialty boards, which are devoted to specific disciplines or organ systems, ABVP awards species-oriented certification in ten categories.
