Dr. Kathleen Neuhoff Named 2002-03 AAHA President

Dr. Kathleen T. Neuhoff, of Mishawaka, Ind., was named president of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) on March 27, at the association's annual meeting in Boston.

Dr. Neuhoff received her DVM from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1979. Since then, she has practiced small animal medicine at the Magrane Pet Medical Center, in Mishawaka, where she is a practice director. Dr. Neuhoff is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Canine and Feline Practice).

In addition to practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Neuhoff also practices podiatry. She has board certifications from the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and from the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. Neuhoff has served AAHA since 1987, when she became area director in the Midwest Region. She has held the positions of AAHA regional member representative, coordinator and director and has served on numerous AAHA committees. She has also supported the veterinary community as an ambassador to the Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine, the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association's Complementary Medicine Chair, a member of the Midwest Small Animal Association board of directors and president of the Michiana Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Neuhoff has also served several podiatric and medical associations.

Dr. Neuhoff is active within her local community as a church lector, Cub Scout volunteer and president of the local Home and School Association. She also is active in the 4-H Horse and Pony Club, the American Horse Show Association, the Chamber of Commerce, the St. Joseph County Humane Society and the Laporte Hospital Foundation.
